In the PDF viewer you can annotate documents directly – mark up by hand or add text notes. Open a PDF first (see Using the PDF viewer).

Tools
- Pen – draw or mark freely on the document.
- Add text – place a text box anywhere.
- Stamp – apply a predefined stamp (see Stamping documents).
- Select – click existing annotations to move or delete them.
How to do it
Choose Pen or Add text in the toolbar, place your annotation on the document and then click Save at the top. Use Zoom in/Zoom out to adjust the view; use Select to edit annotations again.
A hint about the active tool
As soon as a tool is armed, the editor tells you what it expects next – for example add text – click a spot in the document, comment – select a passage in the document, draw – drag in the document, select area – drag a frame in the document or stamp – click a spot in the document.
While a tool is armed, zoom stays locked. That stops a zoom click from placing the annotation in the wrong spot, and the editor says so explicitly. End the tool to zoom again.
