The Graph Connector is our direct interface to Microsoft 365 via the Microsoft Graph API. Aktenplatz connects to your Microsoft 365 account directly and reads the relevant mailboxes over a modern, encrypted interface. No app registration in Azure/Entra ID is required – Aktenplatz handles the connection; you only establish and confirm it once.

A note on audit-proofing

The Graph Connector accesses the individual mailboxes directly and is therefore not audit-proof: if a user deletes a message before it has been synchronised, it will not be captured. Only the route via a journal mailbox is audit-proof – there the copy is created automatically, before any user can intervene. Choose the Graph Connector if a convenient connection is enough for you; choose the journal mailbox if seamless, tamper-proof archiving is required. Aktenplatz support is happy to help you decide which method fits.

Requirements

  • A Microsoft 365 administrator account to establish the connection once and confirm the requested permissions.
  • No Azure/Entra app registration and no manual tenant/client IDs needed.

1. Set up the connection

In Aktenplatz, open Settings → Sync (/settings/sync) and start the connection to Microsoft 365 there. Sign in with a Microsoft 365 administrator account and confirm the requested permissions. This establishes the connection to your tenant.

2. Create the mail subscription

After connecting, you still need to create the mail subscription – only then does the actual mail retrieval via the Graph Connector begin. Open Settings → Mail (/settings/mail) and create the mail subscription there.

Aktenplatz now retrieves the mails directly via Microsoft Graph and assigns them automatically to the matching records. For questions about the setup, Aktenplatz support is happy to help.
